Battling Recession and Building Businesses With the Power of Social Capital

One of the most overlooked resources available to small businesses is also one of the oldest: social capital. In a hyper-competitive world, a laser focus on capturing market share and revenues at the expense of rivals can leave management completely blind to cost-saving growth opportunities found when businesses pool their labor and knowledge together. This “social capital” can help to offset the loss or absence of financial capital and keep businesses growing even during economic downturns. In this speech, Kevin explores the ways that new businesses are returning to old-fashioned community values and reshaping the economic landscape.

The Virtual Enterprise: Enabling Productive Teams in a Flat, Far-Flung World

Companies are increasingly be required to operate at a quickening pace... demanding flexibility and speed while maintaining security. As well, many of the participants in these new business teams are around the world. In response to this increasing trend, entrepreneurs are building "virtual enterprises" . Through working with each other, these entrepreneurs create greater results than they would alone. Kevin speaks about the conceptual shifts that are driving these business trends, and how to organize to take advantage of these trends.

Innovation and Economic Development

How Commons-Based Production and Startup Societies Will Change the World

(talk about Boostrap, Chile, Mexico - what you're doing, who else is involved, why you're doing it, what's the vision, and what success stories are emerging in this sphere?)

I think that's a strong and compelling "stable" of speeches that will be appealing to event organizers. Remember, the one-pager is a marketing tool -- not the epitaph on a tomb stone -- so it will change, grow, be updated over time. We just need to get Version 1 knocked out now, and we're pretty close.

I'm putting this into a Word doc for you as well if that helps for your working process.
